Second turns, first choices.
Urban on 1st sells hand-selected, gently used clothing and home decor. Nothing arrives on the floor by the bin-load: every sweater, coat, hat and lamp is chosen because it is worth wearing, or living with, again.
The result feels more like a well-kept closet than a thrift store: knitwear folded in stacks, felt hats on stools, outerwear grouped by colour, and a corner of throws, pillows and pitchers for the house.
The floor follows the seasons.
Now and then the shop closes for a day to reset the floor for the season ahead. Autumn brings out the wool plaids, suede and cable knits; warmer months make room for lighter layers, sandals and swimwear.
